Terms of Reference |

| a)
|
To establish a Pregnancy Centre,
in Palmerston North, which will provide a support service for women facing
issues in regards to pregnancy |
|
| b) | To offer these women assistance, by trained and supervised support persons, through respectful and non-coercive listening, information, support , and, where appropriate, referral to professional counseling and other support services. |
|
| c) | To offer this service as well to men and other family members who are affected by issues related to pregnancy. |
|
| d) | To ensure that a pregnant woman could feel that she is not alone , and that her needs as well as those of her unborn child can be reasonably met. |
|
| e) | To treat any woman with such sensitivity and respect, regardless of the choices she makes, that she would feel confident using the service of the Centre in a future pregnancy. |
|
| f) | To provide a full range of information relating to issues of infertility, miscarriage, adoption, abortion or maternity care. |
|
| g) | To recruit, from the community, volunteers and professionals who are committed to offering support and care to woman in any areas related to pregnancy, to work in or alongside the Centre. | |
| h) | To be a focus for members of the community who wish to be involved in work with pregnant women. | |
| i) | To provide support for parents experiencing difficulty with infants or young children. | |
